Despite a mediocre start in North America and Japan, dogged by unit shortages, rip-off re-selling on eBay and the still-present threat of a delay to March's PAL region launch, the PS3 is predicted to shine by analyst Datamonitor. The firm believe that despite a poor start, and the collapse of the original 'global launch' plans, Sony should sell in the region of 75 million consoles by 2010, according to MCV.

gamer is rising, and will hit a median of 33 in the future, a break from the typical 18-24 age bracket which is said to presently enjoy games the most.
