Default Genji creator's next game will push PS3 even harder

Sony console will be taken to the limits by veteran designer's forthcoming project.Yoshiki Okamoto, executive producer of visually stunning PS3 launch title Genji: Days of the Blade, has vowed his team's next game will use even more of the console's phenomenal power.
In an interview with Pro-G, Okamoto - who also created the legendary Street Fighter series - let slip a few details of the project, including saying it would be built using Genji's engine. At this early stage, he would not say if the game would be a direct sequel to the forthcoming Japanese hack and slash adventure or an entirely new product, except to stress it would need a new storyline, as the Genji plot "basically ends with Days of the Blade".
Okamoto promised we could look forward to seeing the new title "in a little time, obviously not this year though". However, he was keen to stress how stunning the game will look on Sony's flagship console, now the team is used to developing on the system.
He explained: "If Genji shows what we can achieve with a launch title then think what we will be able to do in the years to come, when we are harnessing the true power of PlayStation 3."
Days of the Blade is the sequel to Genji: Dawn of the Samurai on PS2. For more on the game, launching alongside Sony's next gen console in March, check out Pro-G's preview on Wednesday.
