Circuit City on Thurs. restocked Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 video game system for online customers.The PS3 dropped to U.S. retail on Nov. 17, 2006 and has shipped 1 million units stateside.
CircuitCity.com held stock of the 60GB PS3 SKU on Thurs. morning. The units sells without games or accessories for $599.
In addition, the retailer is offering a package savings of $20 when customers purchase and additional controller and two game titles.
Brick and mortar retailers like Best Buy and Wal-Mart have also restocked the popular system. Sony this week said that it is airshipping 100,000 units per week to retail stores to fulfill demand.
Sony this week announced that it has shipped 2 million PS3 units worldwide, missing a year-end forecast by several weeks. The company maintains that it will ship 6 million units by fiscal Mar. 2007.
