We currently have one main shop in Chicago, which has about 11
servers which include Exchange 2007, and our AD servers, DNS and DHCP servers, File Servers, Database Servers, a Cisco PIX 501, and other hardware.
Our Texas location is just starting up, and has a few workstations running Windows XP, and we have the capability of adding a Cisco PIX 501 to this site also if needed.
We would like to have the Texas site be able to log in as if they were part of the network here in Chicago. This meaning, we would like them to be part of the same domain (e.g. Logging into the main domain in windows XP login screen), to be able to map a network drive (e.g. map W:\ to \\server1), to be able to use the \\mail01
server as if they were here, and so on. We would ALSO like to be able to use our software (Update Expert, Antivirus, etc) to update THEIR machines.
Both sites have static IP's.
Does this require a site to site connection?
I have tried connecting to our network via a client-server connection through Windows XP from home as a test, and it connects, but I am unable to browse the network. I do not think this is the setup we require.
Thanks any replies would be helpful, this needs to be up and running shortly!!
