Reducing the cost of PCI: DSS Compliance – The Logic Group announces a new Secure Card Not Present Payments Service
20th May 2008, Fleet – The Logic Group, specialists in the secure management of information and transactions across Europe, has introduced a further service within its Managed Payments Services portfolio which replaces the need for organisations to retain sensitive cardholder data.
Against a backdrop of rising concern in the media and from consumers on the issues of identity theft, security breaches and data loss, the introduction of The Logic Group’s latest managed service enhancement provides a timely reminder for organisations to ensure their “card not present” business processes and practices are appropriately robust and compliant.
The Logic Group’s Managed Payments Service is fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCISS) and was the first multi-channel payment service in Europe to gain this certification.
The Logic Group’s latest Managed Service offering provides an attractive alternative for businesses working towards PCISS compliance by storing sensitive payment information within The Logic Group’s specialist PCI-compliant data centres, rather than within in-house databases. Instead of holding sensitive customer card data, businesses store “unique tokens” which interact with the Managed Payment Service.
As a result, organisations are able to reduce their operational and compliance costs whilst processing payments as normal without the need to store or handle sensitive data thereby ensuring they can offer their customers a secure and trusted payments environment and mitigate any associated risks to their brand asset.
“Businesses are under tremendous pressure to remain operationally flexible and efficient whilst attaining higher levels of compliance, security and data resilience,” explains Paul Russell, Product Marketing Manager, for The Logic Group.
“Even so, there is no need for businesses to have to try and become PCISS specialists overnight, nor have to develop an in-house secure payments environment unless it is appropriate. Our multi-channel secure payment service is designed to allow our clients to maintain the effectiveness of their customer interactions whilst deploying secure payments solutions quickly and easily.”
“A further significant benefit of this integrated approach is that reconciliation of multiple trading channels such as contact centre, e-commerce and point of sale becomes easier”, confirms Paul. “We appreciate that our clients are seeking a comprehensive overview of transaction data across all channels, without the need to merge and analyse disparate information streams.
The new Logic Group Secure Card Not Present Payments Service is exceptionally resilient, accommodates recurring payments and provides a complete view of an organisations trading estate with real-time reporting capability. It can integrate seamlessly into consumer-facing online payment pages, as well as enable call centre agents to process payments securely through a web browser.
