I have noticed that more and more websites are putting their logo icon in the address bar.
Experts-exchange is one example.
Some others are

Those are commonly known as favicons. Basically it is a 16x16 pixel image file named favicon.ico that is placed in the root of your site. Microsoft has information here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/Author/dhtml/howto/ShortcutIcon.asp) on implementing it. I believe some browsers will just "find" the favicon.ico file if it exists and don't use the tag mentioned in that page.


you need a icon file with your picture called 'favicon.ico' stored on your website and then add



to the section of your html.

Browse to your source image and then click "generate favicon". Then there will be an option to download it.
