Burning Audio CDs Error

I had recently bought an external CD/DVD burner. It works fine whenever I burn files, but I am having problems burning music CDs.When I insert the original audio CDs into my computer, Windows Media Player picks up the tracks and they all play well.. Then I click on all the music track files (they have a "cda" extension) and then burn them into my disc. They all appear as having been burned successfully, but when I try to play back the burned CD, I get a response that the media player does not recognize the format.What am I doing wrong and how can I copy/burn audio CDs ? (I have had no previous experience with this).Thanks.

note that the .cda files are only a index file, they redirect to a place on the CD
to copy those files, u first need to rip them off the cd, this can be easily done with Windows Media Player

Your audio cds' are probably "copy protected"! Use a prgn like CloneCD to duplicate your originals.
