Question: I noticed when gaming online via my PlayStation 2 a while back, I always, and ALWAYS had this strange form of lag. It wasn't actual lag that anybody seen, it was something different. For example, when I was playing SOCOM (a videogame), and was running forward, on my screen it was perfect, but my friends see me about 15-20 feet back.
So whenever I was running to get behind a wall, my friends still seen me running to that wall, while on my screen, I was a good 2-3 seconds already behind it. And this wasn't like a thing that happened once every so often, but it was consistant for 2 years already.
So what does this have to do with? My connection speed, which is running on a Verizon DSL ISP, I usually get 500 KBPS approximately (even though my max is 712). Or is it my old LinkSys router? It is a LinkSys BEFSR41 model. That is a wired router, and I usually have 2 other computers hooked up to this router aside from my PlayStation 2, so 3 in total while running these games). Here's the router:

What should I be blaming it on?
The funny part is, I can see my teammates shooting at blank space, instead of directly me, they are basically shooting at the 2-3 second delay that they see on their screen. And I can see that, which is why I can tell there's some sort of lag. Or when I get behind cover, I am not longer visible to my enemy, but I am still getting wounded from gunshots mysteriously.
