I have a Linksys WGA54G wireless game adapter connecting to a WAG54G modem router. The router works correctly for remote PC’s (XP), but not for Xbox. I have tried automatic and static configurations, but cannot seem to get the right combination and always get IP or DNS errors. I cannot seem to find an answer on the support section of the Linksys/XBox websites either. |

Internet | Router (192.168.1.1) | Game Adapter (192.168.1.250) | XBox (192.168.1.140) How is the XBox accessible from the internet? The router cannot contact it directly, and since the address used is on the same LAN it isnt going to route via any other device, it will just fail. But if it looked like this: Internet | Router (192.168.1.1) | Game Adapter (192.168.1.250) | XBox (192.168.2.140) Then you could add a route to the Firewall that will point traffic destined to 192.168.2.x via 192.168.1.250. Follow me? |
