Default Dell 2005 FPW monitor - ok to plug into 2 pcs at once?

Question: So the monitor has a DVI and VGA input on it. If my main pc is off (the one that the DVI is plugged into on the FPW) can i use the VGA cord and plug my FPW monitor into my laptop and set the input to VGA? I thought the manual said something about not plugging the monitor with both inputs to different pcs but it may be meaning if they were both on. Just curious if anyone else knows something about this.

You can absolutely plug two PC's into the monitor at the same time -- and they can both be on at the same time as well. The only caveat in the manual is to NOT plug both cables into the SAME computer. In fact, your manual explicity says: "... The only case in which both cables can be used is if they are connected to two different computers with appropriate video systems."

In other words, you can plug the DVI into one computer and the DSUB (VGA) into another; and then switch the display between them by simply selecting the appropriate input (using front panel button "A"). You can even use the PIP feature to see both displays at once :-)
