Microsoft Launch HD DVD Player for Xbox 360
Considering the Xbox 360 is now only £200 itself, an extra £130 for a HD DVD player is a price being welcomed by consumers. The new disk drive matches the Xbox 360 in design, but this time the circular drive icon is split into two, with the internal drive sitting above the HD DVD. Just like the Xbox 360, the device can stand horizontally or vertically depending on preference.
The new device comes with a mini-USB cable, power supply, remote control, and a copy of King Kong on HD DVD. Microsoft has also supplied it with 2 USB ports for better connectivity. At this stage there is no HDMI cable for Xbox, but for HD output you can get a component-video or VGA cable.
Xbox users will need to have the latest firmware updates in order to support HD pictures, once this is installed and the HD DVD player is connected, it will automatically support anything up to 1080p.
Xbox HD DVD players are in stores right now.
