Default Yahoo Looking To Block Domains

Even if Google is the top player in the advertising market, the Sunnyvale company Yahoo makes efforts to improve its own technologies and compete with the giants. These days, Yahoo is pretty focused on the advertising platforms it offers and according to Barry Schwartz from Search Engine Land, the company will release an update in the next few weeks. The 'Blocked Domains' feature will enable the advertisers to block their adverts from showing on specific domains included in Yahoo's advertising network. Although the Yahoo officials offered only a few details about this new improvement, Barry Schwartz sustains the improvements might be rolled out in October.Yahoo has just informed me that they will be launching a new advertiser feature named 'Blocked Domains' this month. Blocked Domains will allow Yahoo advertisers to block their ads from showing on up to 250 domains within the Yahoo Publisher Network and distribution network," the article posted on Search Engine Land reads. "Advertisers can control the domains and pages they do not want their ads to show up on. They are expecting to roll out this feature mid-October."

Yahoo sustained in a blog post published on the Yahoo Search Marketing Blog that the company's employees admitted the feature will be released this month but added that several other features will be included in the update package. It seems like Yahoo will also implement an intercontinental traffic control which will allow the advertisers to manage the traffic from certain continents.

"'Blocked Continents', a recent enhancement, automatically excludes traffic from continents other than North America. If intercontinental traffic is important to your business, however, you can easily change this setting by going into your Administration tab and clicking 'Account General Information,'" the blog post reads.

If you want to find more information about these updates, login into your Yahoo account and check the help manuals provided by the giant portal.
